Can I tell you about...Limited Edition? A few months before New York Fashion Week ( which was last week), organizer Mariel Gamboa approached me to join the Limited Edition show in NY. She wanted to raise awareness about global warming via the event, and a percentage of sales from the show would be earmarked for Al Gore's Save the Planet fund. Mariel asked a select group of European designers who normally don't show in New York. She had also asked a select group of fashionistas to design limited edition T-shirts for the opening party. The list was impressive...Kate Moss, Margherita Missoni, Jade Jagger, Diane von Furstenberg, Renzo Rosso of Diesel, Enrique Ona Selfa of Loewe, Libertine, Marc Jacobs, Carine Rotfield, Paul & Joe, Lutz & Patmos, ...and me. How could I refuse? A great cause, an impressive line up, perfect timing!

The launch party was incredible. Almost everyone showed up except for Marc and Kate. As you can see from the photos, it was festive and fun, and there was plenty of fashion on view, both in the booths and on the attendees.

Who said helping to save the planet couldn't be fun...at least for a night, right?

What a Great Idea!
Its good to see that fashion is tuned in
and doing its bit to safeguard the world we wish to inhabit, ethical values of sustainability and the environment.
That must have been some party. The drinks must have flowin and the music thumpin. That Carine is something else. She's not Editor in Chief of French Vogue for nothing. Can you imagine Anna Wintour in satin hot pants?
Sweet blog!
It's nice to know it's not always fun and frivolity in the fashion industry. I know a lot of designers do their share in raising money for various charities and it makes shopping a little easier when there's a cause or a charity that benefits at the same time. Where and when can we buy the bags that you made for this event?
oh my carine r.!!! i love her!! i did report on her back in school
