Can I tell you ...about Julian Schnabel's exhibit in Hong Kong. I was in Hong Kong this November for work (what else) and I was invited by Alex Seno, a writer for the International Herald Tribune, to come to the opening on November 6.
This was Schnabel's first exhibit in Hong Kong and his first visit to the region. I had to go to see this rare event. I've always wanted to see his 'plate' paintings. The 40 works in the exhibition span his career from the 80's to today.
This was a show on the road. It had just come from Beijing and was travelling next to Shanghai then to Seoul,Korea.
It was amazing to see all these Schnabels all together. I've always wanted to see all his other works.
There was the 'plate' portrait of Anh Duong his former girlfriend and now an accomplished painter herself and of his current wife Olatz.
Julian himself was there, wheeling around George Block, a major art collector.
Kristin Scott Thomas made an appearance and I desperately tried to take a good photo. Paparazzi I'm not so the photos are a bit blurred. Yes, I'm keeping my day job.
My bffs Shirley Hiranand and Reyna Harilela also showed up wearing their Rafes.

Nothing could be more fun than that! Kristin Scott Thomas is looking elegant and serene as ever.
dude- you're always somewhere in the world.
as for seoul, honestly there aren't many places to go if you've lived in nyc. anytime i went to a nice bar, i found that the korean workers were not so nice. especially if you go to apkujung, the richest area in korea, everything is blah.
BUT, there is one place you MUST GO. check out Woo Bar at the W Hotel at Walker Hill. i was truly amazed when i was there, the place is amazing. oh, and if you order drinks with foreign liquor but "they ran out at the moment," don't believe that bs. those places put all this stuff on their menus with no intentions to sell. i spent 3 months looking for grey goose in korea, even though it was on the menu of 75% of the bars.
have fun!
wow, that must have been amazing to see all of his work altogether and in HK of all places. can we trade places?
Do you anything mundane at all? you lead such an inspirational and aspirational lifestyle. thanks for sharing it, it's great reading all about it.
The plate paintings are very cool.
And that woman with the rafe clutch has gorgeous hair!
Nice! I truly love the effort for taking a picture of Kristin Scott Thomas! a living screen legend!
I really love her most recent works with French directors haha!
